On behalf of our client, a globally renowned Project Management Consultancy, we are seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead the delivery of major new-build Data Centre projects across Malaysia.

In this role, you will manage the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) scope of work, ensuring successful project delivery in alignment with client objectives and contractual obligations. Responsibilities include overseeing electrical-heavy workstreams, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining strict adherence to timelines, quality, and governance standards. You will act as the primary client interface for MEP matters, lead risk management and change control processes, and ensure technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of MEP systems for large-scale Data Centre projects.
  • Oversee electrical and mechanical workstreams, ensuring compliance with design and technical specifications.
  • Act as the primary client interface for MEP scope, fostering strong relationships and clear communication.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, and execution for MEP packages.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Drive change management processes, scope control, and variation assessments for MEP works.
  • Prepare and present regular status reports on MEP progress, cost, and risk.
  • Ensure governance and documentation standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in MEP project delivery, ideally on Data Centre or mission-critical projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and MEP coordination.
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex technical scopes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead under pressure and deliver projects within tight timelines.
  • Familiarity with project controls, risk management, and change control processes.
  • Based in Malaysia or willing to relocate; Johor and Cyberjaya project locations.
