A leading general contractor with a strong presence in the Middle East, specializing in large-scale infrastructure and complex construction projects. The company is renowned for its expertise in airport development and delivering high-quality aviation infrastructure.
The Role:
Reporting to the Site Manager, General Foremen will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating on-site construction activities specifically related to airport pavement and asphalt works. This role involves managing work crews, ensuring adherence to project plans, safety regulations, and quality standards for critical airport infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct construction crews for airport pavement and asphalt projects.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and aviation safety regulations.
- Monitor progress, manage resources, and report on daily activities to the Site Manager.
- Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental policies on site, particularly those relevant to airport operations.
Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in airport pavement and asphalt construction and demonstrate:
- Key skill or qualification: A vocational qualification or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline. Relevant certifications in construction supervision or airport safety are highly advantageous.
- Relevant technical or commercial experience: Proven experience as a General Foreman on airport pavement and asphalt projects. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, equipment, and materials specific to airport runways, taxiways, and aprons. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate site teams, coordinate with subcontractors, and liaise with airport authorities and project management.
